Sisters on the Streets
Alycia is the co-founder of sisters in the streets (the main support system for her sister Laura Rathbone). She is also the operations manager for north valley caring services (NVCS) and helped the development of programs such as: creating a program so kids living in motels could attend school virtually at NVCS (safely on campus) and deliver hot meals to the motels during the shut down, coordinate an in person graduation ceremony ( where a mother who was in 4th stage cancer could see her kid walk across the stage to graduate) turn a weekly walk up food pantry into a 2cs a week drive though food pantry serving 1600 households a week for 1.5 years during the shut down, make a homeless shower and breakfast program run safely during a pandemic. With Alycia’s leadership and determination, she helped to serve hundreds of people experiencing homeless to revive services when many Agencies shut there doors. All while being a mother to a 12 year old, a wife, and taking care of her elderly father.
